Information stored on your device
RiffAlly apps may remember settings, practice choices, favorites, recent selections, calibration, tunings, or similar preferences in local app storage. RiffAlly Slowdown also stores imported-media references, recordings, speed, pitch, loop markers, named markers, and tempo-ladder settings locally. RiffAlly does not receive this information. Deleting an app removes its local information.
Microphone and audio
RiffAlly Tuner uses microphone input only while tuning. Pitch analysis happens on the device; microphone audio is not recorded, stored, or transmitted by RiffAlly. RiffAlly Slowdown uses microphone access only when you choose to record; recordings remain in the app’s local storage and are not uploaded by RiffAlly. Metronome, Scales, and Chord Explorer do not require microphone access. Their musical audio is generated on the device.
RiffAlly Loop recordings
RiffAlly Loop uses the microphone when you start a recording workflow. RiffAlly does not receive or upload these recordings. Audio stays inside the app’s local container. In version 1.0, loops are session-based and are not restored after relaunch. In the upcoming version 2.0, Record & Select retains the current finalized original, its accepted bar selection and an undismissed draft across relaunches; these audio files are excluded from device backup. Explicitly dismissing an unaccepted draft removes that draft, without deleting a different accepted original. Clear loop or successful replacement removes the previous retained take. Fixed bars loops remain session-only. There is no multi-loop library or export. Removing the app removes its local data. Temporary or removed files should not be treated as securely erased immediately after an action.
Loop’s optional tips use Apple StoreKit. Opening its optional Information & Support screen may retrieve the public RiffAlly app catalog without sending audio or practice settings, as described below.
Optional YouTube player in RiffAlly Slowdown
If you choose Slowdown’s optional YouTube mode and load a video, the official embedded YouTube player connects directly to Google and YouTube. YouTube states that the embedded player collects and shares basic user data when it loads to render video information, determine playability and restrictions, and prevent fraud and abuse, with additional data collected when playback begins. Depending on your device, account, settings, location, and the video, this can include connection and device information, an IP-address-derived approximate location, video views and interactions, and advertising data. The YouTube player may display ads.
RiffAlly does not receive or retain that YouTube data, does not use a YouTube login, and does not download, extract, convert, cache for later, separate, export, or background-play YouTube media. Slowdown’s embedded player uses a nonpersistent WebKit data store. YouTube’s handling of information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and YouTube Terms of Service.
Accounts, analytics, advertising, and tracking
The apps have no RiffAlly accounts, first-party advertising, analytics, tracking technologies, or third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. The optional official YouTube player in Slowdown is the exception described above and may show YouTube advertising.
Optional tips
RiffAlly apps may offer optional consumable tips through Apple’s StoreKit system. Apple processes purchases and purchase history under Apple’s privacy policy. RiffAlly receives no payment-card details, and tips do not unlock app features.
External actions
Core music features work offline. If you choose an App Store link, rating, sharing, feedback, support, or privacy action, iOS opens the relevant Apple or web service. Those services and this website’s host may process standard connection information under their own policies.
Optional RiffAlly app catalog
Opening the optional More from RiffAlly screen may request a public app catalog from this support website. The request retrieves app-listing information only; it does not include practice settings, saved routines, progress, or audio. This website’s host may process standard connection information under its own policy.
Children
RiffAlly does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If RiffAlly’s data practices change, this policy and the relevant App Store privacy information will be updated before those changes are released.
